(Unfinished Business) [PDF/EBOOK] ☆ Tim Baker Too Bad;What a shame The premise of the story interested me greatly I sincerely want to read it but the lack of editing issues are too numerous to ignore And I only made it to about halfway through chapter 2I am being generous in giving a 2 star rating because if the ebook were to be updated with the problems addressed I'd gladly pick it back up and try again

FREE READ Ö Unfinished Business E last hope for these souls to rest in peaceUntil she embalms the corpse of a sociopathDetective Dave Steere is investigating night club owner Mike McMahon When McMahon is murdered and the evidence points to Meg Steere's gut tells him that something isn't right Now he has to figure out if he's tracked down a murderer a victim or something he can't explain. Mortician Meg inherits the ability to speak with the dead Assisting them to complete any Unfinished Business she carries out their final wishes sometimes willingly and sometimes not She reports murders to the police ruins relationships by spilling dirty secrets and even thwarts an attempted massacre Unfortunately this puts her on the radar of the crafty detective Will he believe her if she tells him how she knows so much Or will she end up behind bars or even worse in a padded roomUnfinished Business is almost like a collection of short stories with a central character In addition to Meg s supernatural gift there s a secondary police mystery as a detective attempts to put a kingpin behind bars Meg reminded me of Jennifer Love Hewitt s character in Ghost Whisperer without the glitz and hair extensions The story is eerie at times and because of the changing conflicts it didn t get stale Weirdly enough I found the names Baker used for the dogs Anubis and Smudgy to be fantastic I m a firm believer that a narrator can make the experience of reading a book enjoyable even increase the likability of a book Unfortunately this was not the case for Unfinished Business The narrator s pitch was monotonous and a lack of tonal inflection did nothing to lend the book any intensity I suspect that had I read a digital copy instead of listening to the audio that I would have enjoyed the book and subseuently rated it higher But I couldn t stop thinking that the narrator reminded me of the narrator from those old school claymation Christmas moviesA cute little Easter egg pops up when a detective picks up a copy of Dying Days authored by Baker s friend and colleague Armand Rosamilia And each time I heard A1A Vanilla Ice started playing through my mind A1ABeachfront AvenueI had high hopes for Unfinished Business It delivered in concept and talented writing with engaging dialog Where I found challenges was in momentum That s not to say it fell flat it just didn t grow in intensity Personally I think this was because the opening of the book does an amazing job evoking emotion from me depicting an old man on his death bed remembering the old days So it was hard to top that when the deaths following were clinically recounted Readers that like a book to get them thinking about the mystery of life and death will enjoy Unfinished Business House of Gold just didn t grow in intensity Personally I think this was because the opening of the book does an amazing Our Darkest Hours job evoking emotion from me depicting an old man on his death bed remembering the old days So it was hard to top that when the deaths following were clinically recounted Readers that like a book to get them thinking about the mystery of life and death will enjoy Unfinished Business
