I thought this was a classy little act of a book of short snippets of poetry I ve read a few of his poetry books before and I like the dude In this very short book Pablo posits lots of interesting hypothetical scenarios It reminded me of Samuel Butler s Erewhon where the children in this utopian society are reuired to attend lessons where they are encouraged to think about the art of the possible So what would you get if you were able to mix a donkey with an apple The poetry here is uite similar and will get your imaginative juices flowing beautifully Here are some of the phrases that Pablo used and some of the concepts he urges us to hold and play with Training helicopters to suck honey from the sunlight trees concealing the splendour of their roots the sadness of a train standing in the rain smoke talking with the clouds the hat of the night fully of starry holes ash talking to fire tears not yet spilt waiting in small lakes thunderclouds and its black sack of tears rice smiling with an infinity of white teeth the dark ages writing in invisible ink salts teeth coming from a bitter mouth the watermelons laugh when it is murdered a flower that flies from bird to bird the bell that will ring in your dreams the earth singing like a cricket in the music of the heavens life is a tunnel between two vague clarities our worms becoming part of dogs or butterflies flies making honey and offending the bees the tree as interlocutor between earth and sky the father that lives in your dream and dies again when you awake your importance in the courtroom of oblivion kindness vs the mask of kindness and Hitler doing forced labour in hell as his tattooed skin is used as lampshades
