This is a harrowing story of a betrayal of trust by so many people whom the author could have expected to rely upon First there was the priest who inveigled his way into the author s family and used the trust he gained to abuse the author When the author plucked up his courage and told another priest about the abuse the resulting investigation swore the author to secrecy and assured all concerned that it would not happen again and that steps would be taken to stop the abuse of other children continuingBut the actions taken were not effective and the priest continued to abuse children for than twenty years So many people knew of the abuse and turned a blind eye to it Children apart from the author who reported the abuse were not believed or the whole thing was swept under the carpet because no lasting harm had been done to the children It is clear from this book that the harm done is hugely damaging and long lasting colouring the rest of people s livesHow does a child deal with such abuse They are brought up to trust a priest implicitly and it follows from that that anything the priest does or says must be acceptable whatever instinct tells you about it Then if you say anything to another adult about what is going on the chances are you probably won t be believed All these thoughts and feelings come over so well from this book and I found myself empathising with the author and becoming angry over the betrayal and the way it coloured his life To add insult to injury he had to fight for years to obtain compensation from the church the organisation which should have protected him in the first placeThis is an uncomfortable and disturbing read but a necessary one I received a free copy of this book from NetGalley for review purposes This Kiss Made in Montana #12 is a harrowing story of a betrayal of trust by so many people whom the author could have expected to rely upon First there was the priest who The Black Torch Anthology inveigled his way Cambridge IGCSE™ Malay as a First Language Teachers Guide into the author s family and used the trust he gained to abuse the author When the author plucked up his courage and told another priest about the abuse the resulting Albatross The True Story of a Woman's Survival at Sea investigation swore the author to secrecy and assured all concerned that Southern Comforts Fitzgerald House #1 it would not happen again and that steps would be taken to stop the abuse of other children continuingBut the actions taken were not effective and the priest continued to abuse children for than twenty years So many people knew of the abuse and turned a blind eye to Her Man From Shilo it Children apart from the author who reported the abuse were not believed or the whole thing was swept under the carpet because no lasting harm had been done to the children It Course of Action is clear from this book that the harm done The Last Au Pair is hugely damaging and long lasting colouring the rest of people s livesHow does a child deal with such abuse They are brought up to trust a priest Still Lake implicitly and The Dreamers it follows from that that anything the priest does or says must be acceptable whatever Captive The Blackcoat Rebellion #2 instinct tells you about Tall Dark Collection it Then Rookie K 9 Unit Collection Volume 2 if you say anything to another adult about what Marvel Encyclopedia is going on the chances are you probably won t be believed All these thoughts and feelings come over so well from this book and I found myself empathising with the author and becoming angry over the betrayal and the way Guarding His Witness it coloured his life To add Her Cowboy Soldier insult to Mate Me If You May The Millennium Wolves #05 injury he had to fight for years to obtain compensation from the church the organisation which should have protected him Carrying Her Millionaires Baby in the first placeThis Breakthrough is an uncomfortable and disturbing read but a necessary one I received a free copy of this book from NetGalley for review purposes

Free download Sworn to Silence 107 Brendan Boland à 7 Free download Download æ eBook, PDF or Kindle ePUB à Brendan Boland Rely he should trust a priest But he knew he wasn’t the only victim and his worst nightmare was that his sisters would be nextIt was three years before he plucked up the courage to tell another priest An inuiry was uickly called in which Brendan was sworn to secrecy But the abuse didn’t stop Ins. I personally think that this book needs to go on everyone s must read list it s a true story of a child who had to undergo such a horrendous childhood because he was sexually abused by the most trusted person by this boy s family and apparently by the neighbors because he is a pastorfather essentially the pastor didnt only groom Brendan the boy but also his family and the entire neighborhood by gaining their trust especially Brendan s The heartbreaking part is Brendan was confused if that act of sexual abuse was wrong until he was like 1314 years old I was uite mad because the church didnt do anything except that they moved Smyth the alleged from one church to another and as expected that actually opened a wider chance for Father Smyth to bait some victims Generally the incident affects Brendan all his life he became over protective of his children and one of his children died while he was away what saddens me is he kept blaming himself for letting the church do what were done and blaming himself again for suing the church and his thought was God s wrath had befallen him one of his sons was taken by Him I was so glad to find out that Smyth at last was locked behind the bar and now he s dead
