FIRST IMPRESSIONThe Summary was enough to piue my curiosity It has been some time since I read a uality fan fiction and this seemed like it would fit the bill The first two lines attracted me enough to sound like one of those uotes that people saved and read over and over again Books and friends are always a winning combination REVIEWKelsey is a young soldier who fights in the army She fights the sorcerer and reports to her general But then she sees some oddities some things that foretell a shift from her reality her truth From then she realises that things are not what they seem Her uest for truth with an odd assortment of aids and foes takes her through interesting and often revealing wonderous things The evil sorcerer who wants power and to overthrow the king does so by devious means The good protagonist and her oddball team of friends understand the intention of the villain and fight him to end the warThe author has taken all the main elements of the fantasy genre and has built up a wonderful story around it No review would do actual justice to what the story is about Talking about it vaguely makes the story seem generic and being too detailed ruins the fun of the story War of words Armies generals evil sorcerers fantasy non human characters this book was a riot from start to finish The book combined magic and reality so beautifully that it put the message across without actually seeming like it was a story The author gets special points for doing it in a fun and humorous way The writing style is something that made me read some parts of the book than once I loved how the characters spoke reacted and thought in the way the author has penned themI had no idea that the story was part of a series and some moments did confuse me But the book works well as a standalone clearly written for an age group lesser than me I really have to thank the author for writing a book of spells illusions adventures words and everything a teen must read This remains one of my favorite booksI loved the language the writing style It has never been easy to construct a make believe world so realistically Thanks to Amy for writing a beautiful book and I will surely read the other books in the seriesVERDICTI am glad I got this as a review copy Not to be disregarded as yet another fantasy novel RATING 455 I received the copy in exchange for an honest review

characters The War of Words ↠ E-book, or Kindle E-pub Amy Neftzger µ 9 characters Read The War of Words Battles against darkness a uest for truth and a search for the book that no one can read are all part of the fantasy adventure in The War of Words As an evil sorcerer wages war with mysterious shadows and seeks to gain control by confusing the resident. I did not realize this was the third book of a series when I reuested it The synopsis sounded interesting but had no mention of it being part of a series If I had known it was part of a series I would not have gotten it as I am somewhat anal and like to read things in orderHowever that would have deprived me of a solid read that I did enjoy I would have liked it better if I had known the characters beforehand though It wasn t difficult to pick up on who was who and who they were both in their own minds and in the minds of the other characters but I would have liked to see how Kelsey had gotten her scar and it s significance I did feel like I had missed something by not reading the other two books firstBut this book wasn t difficult to follow despite my missing the first two books The language in this book was BEAUTIFUL Lots of beautiful uotes that I hope made it into the final edition At times I had the thought that I was reading a philosophy book the various phrases were so thought provoking and gorgeously written Not sure how those statements would seem to the young reader who I believe this is geared towards but I loved them Almost like poetry The MC Kelsey REALLY annoyed me at times At others I admired her spunk She was almost bi polar or Asperger s with not understanding how to relate to others and being so focused on her task that she couldn t understand why her actions would have repercussions in real life Not a bad book but definitely one I would have benefited reading after the first two I think Beautifully written I will definitely seek out the other two books and other books by this author The three stars are solid and conditional on my reading the other two books I m kind of miffed it wasn t billed as part of a series but again I would have missed out so I can t be too upset There is violence there is a war going on but it s not overly gruesome or in your face No romance though there is a couple that is bickering all of the time so you know how it s going to go I really liked the platonic friendship between the MC and Eric and the othersOnly thing I must have missed the ages of the characters because while they are constantly referred to as the youngest soldiers in the war I have no recollection of how old they are I would say this book is clean and had some interesting characters such as the gargoyle who would attract younger readers I wouldn t hesitate to recommend this to a middle grade reader and older My thanks to NetGalley and Fields of Gold Publishing for an eARC copy of this book to read and review
