Read this book review and others at sarahthebooknerdhomeblogI found this gem at Goodwill and had to buy it My boyfriend has been begging me to read the Twilight series by Stephenie Meyer for a while so I m going to dedicate some time to that I ve read them when I was in eighth grade and again when I was in high school but I haven t had the experience as an adult yetI was looking for Twilight books because they re always being donated and I found Vampire Haiku The cover and the back description had me rolling with laughter so I had to buy it Especially since I was starting a vampire kickIt s actually a beautiful book The paper is thick and colorful decorated with blood splotches and ink blots There s pictures and creases that make this journal look like a scrapbook of sorts The haiku poems tell a story with a dynamic plot despite the book s intentions of humor This book makes fun of vampire culture and it s greatI was surprised to find references to Twilight a full page worth and Buffy the Vampire Slayer I was expecting Dracula and Nosferatu but I m glad Mecum integrated some of the newer culture to the book as the journal progressed into recent yearsIf you re looking for a uick read to catch up on your 2019 reading goal perhaps this would be a great book It s lighthearted hilarious and has a legit story line to follow I do wish that the story line was a little complex which is why I gave it four stars instead of five It s predictable but aren t all vampire stories
